I would like to point out that they apparently just very recently announced they were gutting their API lmoa
it's real easy to shit on spotify the company (they're evil) but holy shit their API is incredible
your average platform will report basic listening data; last played, track, artist, album, etc
spotify, for whatever reason, will give you all of that, plus shit like the app volume and repeat status

i think this more or less actually comes down to my deep frustration with the fact that so few modern clubs give a shit about the music
if i go to an event, that i am paying money for, it's usually to listen to the music! it's to see the DJ pull crazy shit!! it's to dance and mosh with similar ppl!
