Retired corporate whore. Post about bicycling, photography, scale modeling, some politics. I live in Ashland, Oregon with a spouse, a daughter, and a rascally black lab named Oliver. Profile pic is November sunrise in the eastern Sierra.

This "don't blame the dems" nonsense is like if before WWII, we chose to do nothing and said "Well, it's all Hitler's fault after all."

I recently took a trip down to Morro Bay, California. In addition to visiting the elephant seal rookery, I make several stops at wildlife refuges. The photo below shows a few of the thousands of snow and white fronted geese I watched rise and settle in the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. #birds

Chilling. Those "Designated Terrorist Organizations" can be anything now. Start naming groups Trump and his minions don't like - NAACP, NRDC, Sierra Club, any Dem PAC. The Democratic Party? Who would stop them?
This startling admission comes after months of extrajudicial killings of alleged members or affiliates of "Designated Terrorist Organizations" in the waters near Venezuela, which experts and lawmakers say are outright murders.

I'm seriously concerned about his health, too. That it isn't failing fast enough.
Dr. Jonathan Reiner on why he was alarmed by Trump's speech: "It was delivered with a manic cadence -- almost a frantic cadence ... it was disturbing to watch. It was disturbing because he's the commander in chief."

Yeah, I've called male aspects of the reproductive process many slang words over the years, but "Business" wasn't one of them. Seems obvious now.
That’s pretty literal.

A little champagne gravel in the Ashland, Oregon watershed yesterday. It was foggy and cold in the valley. Sunny and warm up higher. Rare we can even ride this road in December. We need snow.

No one is asking for this. It's just a vague allusion to a "better" time that never actually existed.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

This is a good read.
".. in his return to the presidency this year, Trump has seldom ventured across the country to anywhere other than his own clubs. .. Everyone around Trump, and everything he is seeing on TV and on his phone, is telling him that he’s right."

Here's my peace plan. Get the fuck out of Ukraine's sovereign territory, and we'll maybe, possibly, after a while, think, at least a little, about asking (nicely) the rest of the world to remove sanctions.
