Ah yes - the land of the free and the brave. How dare you encourage people to exercise their rights, when you knew this administration would try and kill them for it?!?!?
Ron Johnson to Keith Ellison: "Two people are dead because you encouraged them to put themselves into harm's way! And now you are exploiting those two martyrs. You ought to feel damn guilty about it. Yeah, sit there and smirk. Smirk. It's sick! It's despicable. You disgust me."

In the defense of ICE, that was a vicious looking schnauzer, and it was brandishing a gun. Clearly a woke terrorist. It moved to draw a weapon. The dog's wife needs to be investigated for ties to the cartels. It looked foreign. From a s*%#hole country. It was attempting to run over an ICE agent.

I’m guessing Trump isn’t a bit opera fan. What with them singing in them foreign tongues and other such un-American tomfoolery.

Okay, _that_ was a good add. About prostate cancer tests.

WTF?

i worry that a 5-year stretch of nothing but ads for NFTs, bitcoin, and AI is a long enough gap that this nation's once-great advertising industry will forget how to sell a product people actually want

Dear developers of applications - overriding frequently key shortcuts to always be directed to your application when it is not in the foreground and thereby preventing that shortcut from being used in any other app is a _very_ hostile act.

This is really cool. Photo of one the more influential solar physicists turns up - we had nothing of him before!
BREAKING: This is Richard Carrington, the first person to document solar flares on the Sun & suggest their influence on aurora at Earth. The largest solar storm on record, the Carrington Event, bares his name. But, there has been no photograph available of Carrington – until now!

I think the modern era of politics is best explicable by the observation that surrounding _anyone_ with people agree with you and flatter you for whatever reason is a _really_ bad idea.

I have been looking forward to this for way too long. And the inch of ice on the roads here in Texas means I’ll have to wait a few more days. Dang it.

One (minor) problem with the current situation - it has caused me to lose respect for a lot of people. Not because I disagree with them in whatever issues, but because their rationalizations and justifications are so blatantly stupid. And counter to just about every principles they claimed to have.

Two things scare me right now:
1. If this is what they are doing in public, imagine what they are doing in the camps?
2. If the citizenry decides that they no longer consent to be governed…what happens next? We have something of a history about that sort of thing.

Well said, sir!
When was he supposed to do that? Between the bursts of pepper spray? Between the blows to his head?
Chip Roy: "As someone who carries a weapon in TX, if I'm in front of law enforcement or if I get stopped, I tell them that. I tell them that I've got a concealed carry permit. I show them my ID. I tell them where the weapon is bc that's what we're supposed to do. That's not what I think I saw here"

We have a new answer to the ancient question - Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Who watches the watchers? Domestic terrorists, it turns out.

Giggle.

An ice storm could interfere with his podcasting.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted earlier today, January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front.

Does quoting this count as a further assault?
ICE are Gestapo scum.

There, bitch, that‘s 8,001.
"We've seen over a thousand percent increase in assaults on ICE officers, 8,000 verbal assaults on them...."

Freedoms and rights that the government can choose to take away whenever they want aren’t rights.

Good gravy, it’s not that hard to understand. But some people seem to think the amendments in the Bill of Rights includes “unless you are a bad person” at the end of each of them.
January 19, 2026 at 9:31 PM
Yup yup.

Dang, I hate being the bad guys.
Fukuyama: Trump is a bully who wants to dominate everyone around him. Trying to placate him with concessions is a fool’s errand. He despises weakness.

As an American, I say to my European friends: do not back down. Appeasing Trump with flattery has failed and must stop.

My kiddo is in middle school, and they are studying the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It is _really_ difficult to talk about how important the 4th amendment (warrants required) is, when the government is gleefully ignoring it.

One of the more amusing things to watch is the number of men who - while proudly trumpeting their “masculine virtues” of independence, strength, and moral courage - turn out to be nothing more than servile lickspittles desperate for someone to tell them what to do.
