This might be a better middle-ground than you think. Every year it surprises me how well it works for how little it cost (on-sale, of course, as I am midwestern). That said, a more powerful shovel might be good but I don't have experience with that.

I'm not sure as all I have that's battery powered is a lower-powered shovel that isn't great. That said, I have a corded electric snowblower that works well, though the cord is obviously a hassle. There's no maintenance required and it's light enough to hang on a hook on the wall of your garage.
