I guess I've been lax at posting over here, but I will try to be better. An intro: I'm Emma, I'm an editor at Harlequin, and in my spare time I'm writing a nonfiction book about romance in horror movies because I love horror. Always happy to answer questions about Harlequin if I can!
Mostly I keep my crafty stuff on Instagram (where I am also EditrixEmma), but I made a coat and that is a big undertaking so I'm going to celebrate it everywhere. (The pattern is the Poppy Coat by The Fabric Store, in blue wool blend fabric with red kasha lining.)

The best thing about Frankenstein discourse is that it's really cemented how much I don't care about other people's opinions on art. "Frankenstein is too much of a villain." "Inland Empire doesn't make sense." "Cat People isn't scary enough." If I love a movie I just don't care if you don't like it.

I loved this so much and I wholeheartedly agree, it is a book that transforms you. I read it months ago and still think of it all the time. Absolutely beautiful and weird and excellent.

Haven't done this in a few weeks because of baseball and The Lowdown (great show by the way). But I have watched a few things this week: Beatty is as charismatic as ever, disappointing sequels and remakes, and the most glorious adaptation of Frankenstein.

We are watching a behind the scenes about Mr. Arkadin, which is great, except for Bogdanovich reminding me yet again how good a friend he was to Orson Welles. (I know Peter is a great director. But I do not care, because I find him to be the most insufferable storyteller.)

I first discovered Clive Barker's Books of Blood when I was 18, visiting family in England. Found a weird little bookshop and bought volume 1 (and a Discworld book), and proceeded to have my mind blown. Finally got the matching edition of volume 2 today, just missing number 6.
