Our dear sister's daughters live in fear every day. The sounds of the drones and planes never cease,

The genocide never ended.

The "war" still ongoing.

Please folks, share and donate now to help save lives 💕💸🍉

Ramadan is approaching, and Gaza is under bombardment… their childhood is stolen every day.

Instead of playing, they hide from explosions; instead of joy, they feel fear.

Your donation today could give them the safety they deserve.

I’ve watched a very smart child try to encode what chaptgpt thinks is “human” so that her class assignments don’t get flagged for plagiarism.

I’ve heard expert professionals admit to self-editing so they don’t “sound” like an llm.

This is the kind of cultural flattening that accelerates fascism.
“As some universities and journals adopt AI-text detectors, they risk creating a feedback loop that constrains how authors express themselves. I have seen colleagues intentionally simplify their grammar or break down complex rhetorical structures to avoid arousing algorithmic suspicion.”
Why artificial intelligence detectors could penalize academic writing - Nature Human Behaviour
Writing produced using artificial intelligence is becoming more common in academia, which has prompted institutions to look for ways to detect it. Bo Hu warns that an overreliance on fixed linguistic ...

The City of Philadelphia really needs to take further steps other than to simply put the exhibit back up. Tie it into some public school curricula, host local conversations, distribute free zines on the topic. Don't just stay at having gone to court.

I used to use detectors before realizing they are also basically LLMs and hallucinate answers just like any other LLM
Just because I keep seeing those "I checked this piece and it's written by AI" - this is an old article of mine, before AI was available. So could we not?

Urge your reps to ban Surveillance Pricing and boycott any business that uses it. If it’s allowed to take root, you will be robbed for the rest of your lives.
(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

Twentieth-century futurism was largely a project of “don’t worry about the problems of the present. Corporations will build you such a lovely future.”

21st-century futurism has mostly been billionaires and their courtiers whining about the mean environmental movement blocking their cool ideas.
