In the 19th century, Vermont was 80% deforested due to clear cutting and a sheep craze.

Today it is 80% forest

Then Again: When the Green Mountains were not so green - VTDigger
In the 1800s, extensive farming and clearcut logging left Vermont's hillsides bare of trees. Concerned people took action.

Something new. A #postcardadventcalendar. Stick with me for some nicely odd vintage images for the month, and you may end up with an expression like our friend in a deckchair in front of painted sea. Hold tight. The thread starts today:

1. Woman in a deckchair.

Another day, another opportunity for Wes Streeting to the The Worst.

As an Autistic woman, Wes Streeting can get in the fucking dumpster fire. I’m so sick of all this anti-Autism, anti-ADHD rhetoric. It’s so damaging for neurodivergent people and ESPECIALLY for neurodivergent kids.

It’s OBJECTIVELY HILARIOUS that Wes Streeting said we have to look at potential over diagnosis of Autism and ADHD through a ‘strictly clinical lens’ as though there aren’t already a million hoops to jump through to even get put forward for a clinical diagnosis on the NHS.

Wes Streeting insists that NHS health records are not for sale.

But handing them to a company like Palantir shatters any chance of public trust ⬇️

Rip Off Britain... A continuing legacy
You only really see how fundamentally broken Britain is when you take the time to look.

Example: international postage. We pay much MUCH more to send letters to the rest of the world than they do to send them to us.

UK to anywhere else: £3.40
Other countries to UK: 68p to £2.15
