Cheap plastics are not actually so cheap. New Duke study shows plastic waste costs our country up to $1 TRILLION A YEAR in health and economic damages. We have to stop producing so much single-use plastics and recycle more of the plastics that can be.

I'm honored to be the only Wendell candidate endorsed by @carolinaforward.bsky.social. Like me, they recognize that housing costs have skyrocketed well beyond incomes and that we need to build more housing.

I want to make sure people who are just looking for an affordable place to live are welcome in Wendell and that they can do more than just live here. I love the cool people and the cool businesses coming to our town and making it an even better place to be.

I'm out there almost every day talking to voters about their concerns and how we can make Wendell an even better place to live, work, shop, and have fun. One of the first doors I knocked was WUNC Capitol Bureau Chief Colin Campbell's, and I invited him to interview me.

They refuse to pass a budget that provides for North Carolinians' urgent needs but it's amazing how quickly #NCGA GOP politicians come together to draw racist maps that take power from Black voters...2 years after they last did. When Trump says jump they ask how high. #ncpol

A big part of what attracted me to Wendell was its history & character. My house was built in 1941. The day I toured it, I ate lunch a few blocks away in downtown Wendell. I was struck that there were no chains occupying any of the historic buildings – just local businesses. 🧵

I want Wendell to be more than a bedroom community for Raleigh. That means attracting more major employers and dining & entertainment options so people can live, work, shop & play here rather than driving somewhere else.

Amen @ncgovernor.bsky.social! NC already has the most litigated and frequently redrawn maps in the country, and they're already an extreme GOP gerrymander. We need to take map drawing out of the hands of politicians who get elected under the lines they draw for themselves to hurt voters.
