I love Wendell. So much that today I became a candidate for town Board of Commissioners. And I'd be honored to have your support!

Together, we'll continue making Wendell a great place to live, do business, and play — a welcoming community where everyone can afford to thrive.

Yes! I absolutely love this message, @citybuilder.bsky.social!
Halloween turns streets into what they should be year-round: spaces for people (...and ghosts). 👻
It’s walkable urbanism dressed up as a holiday🎃

We are in America's darkest hour but the light is coming.
"Renters & buyers alike face a similar problem: there is simply too little housing...available. When supply is low & demand is high, prices go up. With constant upward pressure on housing costs, middle-class North Carolinians get squeezed even more."

I'm honored to be the only Wendell candidate endorsed by @carolinaforward.bsky.social. Like me, they recognize that housing costs have skyrocketed well beyond incomes and that we need to build more housing.
I want to make sure people who are just looking for an affordable place to live are welcome in Wendell and that they can do more than just live here. I love the cool people and the cool businesses coming to our town and making it an even better place to be.
While introducing the racist, corrupt map, Sen. Ralph Hise said "I don't represent Democrats." Actually, he does. About 30,470 of them. But his quote is telling. Under rigged maps, he doesn't have to care about any votes but Republicans'. #ncga #ncpol
Colin also did a piece just on Wendell, recognizing his unique position as a voter in a town without a dedicated local reporter. He asked each of us 3 questions about our priorities.

I'm out there almost every day talking to voters about their concerns and how we can make Wendell an even better place to live, work, shop, and have fun. One of the first doors I knocked was WUNC Capitol Bureau Chief Colin Campbell's, and I invited him to interview me.

Thanks to the Wake Weekly for covering the Wendell Chamber of Commerce forum the other night. I want to make sure people in my situation can still find a place in our community and afford to stay.

That's my AG @jeffjacksonnc.bsky.social! NC is joining 21 other states suing Trump's EPA for illegally cancelling over $150 million already appropriated to 12,500 poor North Carolinia families by Congress.

Thank you! Wendell is the fastest-growing town in the state and I'm running to make it a welcoming town where everyone can afford to thrive. If folks want to knock doors, DM me. I'm also still padding my digital buys. It's less than $1 per voter. Chip in here

Thank you so much! Wendell is the Small Town with Big Charm, and the fastest-growing town in NC. I welcome our new neighbors and want to make sure Wendell stays an affordable place for our long-timers and our newcomers who will one day be our long-timers.
" @citybuilder.bsky.social believes that with better housing policy choices, Triangle cities will welcome new neighbors, build stability for all families & create a stronger future where everyone has a place to live."

💯 That's my mission in Wendell.
They refuse to pass a budget that provides for North Carolinians' urgent needs but it's amazing how quickly #NCGA GOP politicians come together to draw racist maps that take power from Black voters...2 years after they last did. When Trump says jump they ask how high. #ncpol
A stagnant town means historic properties decay and go underutilized. I’ve seen that happen to too many small towns across America, and I don’t want it to happen here.
...something our citizens consistently note we need more of. I want to grow the town’s budget for these grants so we can activate more of these historic structures and make downtown even more vibrant.
The year after moving to Wendell, I was appointed to the town’s Downtown Development Committee, where I’ve been a part of recommending upfit grants for small businesses to renovate those buildings for higher and longer-term uses like dining and entertainment venues...
A big part of what attracted me to Wendell was its history & character. My house was built in 1941. The day I toured it, I ate lunch a few blocks away in downtown Wendell. I was struck that there were no chains occupying any of the historic buildings – just local businesses. 🧵
I want Wendell to be more than a bedroom community for Raleigh. That means attracting more major employers and dining & entertainment options so people can live, work, shop & play here rather than driving somewhere else.

And I want to make sure we prepare ourselves for our changing climate, to protect our people, our drinking water, and our properties from pollution and extreme weather.
I want to work with regional municipalities and counties to do waste management better, making recycling and composting easier and more widespread so we don't fill up our landfill with plastics and food waste.
