I realized the other day that eastern european apocalyptic imagery and Stalker-inspired stuff has become so prevalent that I've actually kind of cooled on it. Which is a part of my personality that I really don't enjoy -_-

...I'm turning into that guy 💀
November 8, 2025 at 3:53 PM
I don't want to turn into one of those guys, but I do have to say that there's been an immense psychological benefit to starting up my computer and having it just quietly boot to a clean digital work area without a dozen windows popping up and services starting.

Ok so it sounds like I probably won't tackle this for my smaller games right now, since afaik they all work well on Proton and I don't really know enough to adequately support them at the moment.
If a game runs well on Proton, is there a purpose in having a native Linux version?
November 6, 2025 at 1:55 PM
No no no, you don't understand

There was never any doubt that git would work in Linux

There was immense doubt that *I* could get it working in Linux
Lol how in the world could git NOT work
November 6, 2025 at 1:43 PM
In what can only be described as a minor miracle, I have finally gotten git working on Linux

Linux experience so far has been a mix of either "this thing works better and faster and more elegantly than Windows" or "this thing took me an hour of googling to get working" with very little in-between.

I was experimenting with per-level color grading options for B.U.G.B.I.T.E. Tinting this extreme would probably only be in a few select levels to create specific vibes. That said, I won't be happy unless I piss off at least one person for "bringing back piss filters"

I haven't really messed with internet radio stations until now. I can listen to radio dramas from the 50s!

Now that I'm using Godot and am migrating to Linux I might as well just switch wholesale to open source tools while I'm at it. I think the one big remaining thing is that I use Studio One for composing and occasional sound work, so lemme know if there are alternatives worth checking out

So today is the first day where I'm going to try and do my work entirely in Linux. Wish me luck

Whenever you lose hope, just remember that Zombie Panic Source is still alive and well.

If they can do it, you can do it!

Long live ZPS
The old Half-Life 2 mod Zombie Panic! Source has released their Halloween Update few days ago! In their dev blog, they talk about their plans to move to TF2SDK engine-branch, with lots of quality-of-life changes and fixes in the latest patch.

So far so good. Got it installed on a separate drive and I have most of my essential work software running (aside from StudioOne which I feel like is going to be a nightmare and might just have to stay on Windows)
Guys

I think it might actually be time
