Every few weeks we gotta make posts like this”call your dem reps to tell them to not vote to allow Lord Killdude to shove people into a volcano” and then the dem reps go “we’ve made an amazing deal where Lord Killdude can have his volcano so long as he promises not to shove people into it”

Make Lung Disease Great Again

This should be the Trump Administration's new slogan.

The Mine Safety & Health Administration has stopped enforcing the silica exposure standard and is dismantling NIOSH, which does lung disease research and certifies respirators.
Thanks Margie Mason & @apnews.com
Deep in Trump country, coal miners with black lung say government is suffocating the 'working man'
Lisa Emery, a respiratory therapist, is deeply concerned about West Virginia coal miners suffering from black lung disease.

Scott said he would restore the 400% of poverty for getting any subsidy at all in the individual market. (There is no such income cap for employer-based tax break.)

Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…

Positives: Eagles win!

Negatives: The will to live gets increasingly shorter with every sports game I watch from Philadelphia. It is apparent that they will murder me eventually, and my only hope is that it is sudden.

The Eagles being an analytics heavy team is funny given that Nick Sirianni looks and acts like a guy who cannot do math.

Bovino announced he will be in Little Village tomorrow. That could be real, and the early announcement could be about provoking a major confrontation to create a big show for the cameras, or it could be a fake-out, drawing attention and people away from another targeted area. Either way, ugly.

Honest question? When are we going to start treating what he says as just the "info" he was most recently fed?
President Trump criticized the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during a Fox News interview tonight, saying people "get it automatically now so the number is many times what it should be, it's disgraceful."
Trump says "we can reform" SNAP
"SNAP is supposed to be if you are down and out," Trump said on Fox News this evening.

#30DayMapChallenge Day 7: Accessibility 🌍✈️

I mapped visa-free travel:
🛫outbound (where citizens can go) and 🛬inbound (who countries let in).

It reveals global mobility inequality.

I'm nothing if not committed to the bit. Late to Day 7 — accessibility — of #30DayMapChallenge because job. Shout out to my preferred mode of transportation (after walking) and to my new home T station, which does NOT have the longest escalator in North American even if it totally feels like it.

Day 7 - Accessibility
Walking Times from the Independent Man

The Independent Man is a gold-plated bronze statue on top of the Rhode Island State House, located in Providence, RI. This is an isochrone map that I made more complicated by symbolizing the roads by color and weight.

Rhode Island Urban Land Use

This is my first time using OSM data for a land use map. The data seems pretty complete, a near mirror of my Forest Types map. Hopefully, Knoxville will get to this level of coverage one day.

Our libraries offer access to far more than just books: free Wi-Fi and computers, career resources, skill-building classes, notary services, community meeting spaces, and much more. They truly function as essential community hubs.

Kidding.

A stylization of the original 1836 plat of #Madison commissioned by Doty, envisioning a capital city between the “Four Lakes.” Anchored by a square, the plan's radiating avenues are reminiscent of L’Enfant’s plan for Washington DC.

Turns out Kashi is about as much fun for map-making as it is for eating. Who would have guessed it. Anyway here’s Day 9 (analog) of #30DayMapChallenge
