the “thanksgiving food is bad” discourse raises its ugly head every year, but the truth remains that thanksgiving food can be amazing as long as you know how to cook. the problem is we’re throwing a few million sunday drivers directly into a grand prix
I think this is unfair to turkey. turkey is good but hard to cook well because it is so damn big. turkey *parts* are great but lack the esthetic appeal of a centerpiece bird.
it is tired to the point of cliche to say if turkey was good, people would make it more than once a year. but it is understated that at least one American explodes every Thanksgiving in a brave attempt to make the main dish more palatable

How embarrassing for Chuck Schumer, Kirstin Gillibrand, Cory Booker, & NY Reps Grace Meng, Dan Goldman, Ritchie Torres, Greg Meeks, Tom Suozzi, & Laura Gillen, that even Donald Trump endorsed Zohran Mamdani before they did.😐

Corporate Democrats just love snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

at the very least, it was the beginning of 25 years of “because I said so” jurisprudence that has completely trashed SCOTUS’ aura of nonpartisanship, which will not be recovered in my lifetime
i don't think that bush v. gore is the *worst* ruling in the history of the supreme court, but i do think it is the most openly *corrupt* ruling in its history. a real disgrace.

Replace "AI" with "bullshit". Thus, "Alpha Schools, the bullshit-driven chain with plans to expand across the US..."

["bullshit" is short for "stochastic parrot bullshit machine"]
A puff piece from the new CBS News on Alpha Schools, the AI-driven chain with plans to expand across the US and is eager to take more funding from taxpayers through voucher and ESA programs.
Is AI replacing teachers? At 2 North Texas private schools, it is
It's called Alpha School for grades K-8, and it's the most expensive private school in Texas. One campus is in Plano and the other is in Fort Worth.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Even if the House was fully functional, they're in session for an avg of 147 days and out for 218.

Under Speaker Johnson, Congress has been in session only 12 of the last 97 days, and he still won't swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva.

There are two problems with Senator Collins sponsoring a bill to continue SNAP benefits during the shutdown:

1. House Republicans refuse to come to work so nothing will happen.

2. Trump already has money that he’s legally required to use for SNAP and won’t
