This is not super different than my usual status of ignoring strangers because I'm afraid of being an idiot in front of them.

It happened in the waiting room of my doctor's office. Everywhere.

The weirdness of the family with small children in front of me for Brokeback Mountain (like, they must have been deeply bored). Crying during that movie, in the lobby after, and at my friends house after that. When I saw The Act of Killing that was the worst thing I've ever seen. You should see it.

Blair Witch is one for me. We waited in a massive line and my friend said the phrase "chicken monkey" to me and then I laughed until I cried (it was a time, ok?) When I saw Civil War and when Bucky was revealed and someone yelled "OH SHIT" so loudly.

🚨Judge Xinis finds that, incredibly, Mr. Abrego Garcia was never ordered deported in 2019. She notes that every since this saga began all the way back in March, the government has NEVER been able to produce any evidence that the immigration judge actually issued a removal order.

Romance, cont: Slippery Creatures + sequels (1920s), After Hours at Dooryard Books (1960s), The Year We Fell Down + sequels, Alexis Hall's Spires series (very spicy), Wolfsong + sequels (really charming, also shifter romance. Which I usually don't like, so ++ to TJ Klune), A Marvelous Light + sequel

Romance: Heated Rivals/The Long Game (if you want to be up on your gay hockey romance pop culture before HBO puts out the adaptation), The Pairing, Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake (Bake Off romance!), Ricochet (serial killer hockey players in love?!?)

I'm over 200 this year so I'm not listing them all. But!
YA: Gwen and Art are Not in Love, Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales (#3, whole trilogy is great), Long Live Evil, Death at Mourning House. 🧵

I loved my last research project as well, but let me tell you I anticipate this being way more fun than a Holocaust memorial/museum/seminar.

There are at least 3 car washes in Delta, the "big" town nearest my Mom (pop. 9,600). My Mom's town has one (pop. 2,400) which is non-automated and not at all new. New businesses in Delta are more likely to be a car wash than anything else. It's baffling.
