If they were doing such a great job of managing Alberta pensions there would be no need for this sort of legislation. Apparently they’re completely incompetent.

Let’s get them to run our pensions! Nothing could go wrong! It’s organized crime.

Time to remove all religion from politics. Quote scripture, get fined. I don’t want you making decisions based on what your competing imaginary friends are alleged to have said through magic tablets, burning bushes, or the voices in your head.

Secularize politics.

Retweeting to watch later.

I find, ironically, that it’s those who most vociferously proclaim their critical thinking skills who are most devoid of them.

Oh, cool! My home town is on the CBC.

Ahhhh, JFC.

Alberta is run by the most incompetent mafia ever.
I had absolutely nothing to do with the $100+ million DynaLife lab service debacle.

Except when I represented them as a lobbyist to the UCP while I was president of the Alberta Enterprise Group which they were members.

The open secret that Thomas King is not Indigenous at all is finally verified, and honestly it's a relief. Having him just confess this instead of going out kicking and screaming like so many before him causes a LOT less harm to Indigenous communities.

It still sucks though.

Yeah, there are lot of open secrets about folks playing Indian. There are groups dedicated to outing them, and have been for some time, but a LOT of work also happens behind the scenes trying to hold people to account. A lot of painful things that communities want to avoid during this process.

It’s amusing, though, to see the Recall Act largely follow the same pattern that its previous incarnation (under Bible Bill Aberhart) set.

Gentle reminder (for Mr. Nally’s benefit) that any eligible elector can be a petitioner regardless whether or not that person voted in prior elections.
Dale Nally's recall petitioner says he doesn't listen to constituents and cites his concerns over the notwithstanding clause.

Nally responds by saying the petitioner doesn't vote and works as a proxy for a group weaponizing the recall act and the petition has no merit.

Watched “The Order.” A pretty good film, with the weirdness of having been filmed in Calgary near where I used to live (North Hill mall features in it).

Shoutout to Bragg Creek, too.
