The idea of Dani having a "mutant metabolism" seems incongruous with her other abilities. My headcanon that it's an extension of her psychic abilities, that she's sort of able to sort of "see through the haze" and focus through the drugs.

Rahne is 13, it makes sense that she would take such a perceived betrayal to heart like this and it doesn't feel tired. She can be rash and eccentric and we the reader don't feel like whapping her in the head over it.

I love Rahne writing off Amara because she let herself be vulnerable around her. It's the kind of sloppy conflict that often feels forced to drive drama... but the great thing about writing stories around kids, it feels much more earned.

You know, obviously I don't miss the red coloring they consistently gave Dani, but I don't know if making her as pale as Rahne was a great alternative.

Wow it kinda seems like neither the overtly fascistic party nor their opposition truly have the people's best interests at heart and are ultimately self-serving to a fault. I wonder if this is meant to be a commentary about anything.
