Okay. Addressed in part 2. He blames the X-Men. Shocker.
The story talks about the X-Men's fight with the sentinels like it was an isolated skirmish that could easily be misinterpreted if you weren't there. Rather than nation wide, widely publicized robot overlord martial law.
This issue also went a long way to reestablishing the mutants as outcasts. I feel like they hadn't leaned into that, outside flashbacks, for years.

The story does, also, kindly ask that you please forget the sentinels betrayed humanity live on television, and mass subjugated them.
Ngl I wish Alex knew Cyclops was Scott from the start. It might've hit harder if he knew he was carrying this burden his entire life but didn't truly understand it until now.
Cyclops calls Egyptian sentries "camel jockeys" maybe that's the reason for the disclaimer.
I can see why they established in the opening that Lorna's powers are on the fritz because otherwise... *crushed soda can noises*
No offense to Kirby but his sentinels definitely didn't carry the same imposing nature as Adams'.
Neal Adams was the right artist to bring back the sentinels. Crushed it, basically cultivated the vibe that they'd maintain from here on out.
I like that she just pals around in the suit.

Honestly? If I had a super suit I'd do the same.
I think that, since his first run on X-Men, Roy Thomas learned to let the artist help tell the story, more. And part of that probably has to do with the cultural shift in the comics industry, too, but i do sincerely think he got better at writing.
As formulaic as it sounds I really wouldn't mind if this had just been the series for a few years, if it hadn't been cancelled. New adventure, meeting new mutants. Not every one needs to join the team or even become a hero. But just expanding how we see the mutants' place in the world.
So... they ever going to explain how Living Pharaoh faked his death and pinned it on Scott?

I found Havok's introduction a bit underwhelming but I appreciate they're keeping the momentum going after Polaris, trying to expand their roster and the scope of their world.
Riiiiiight! So when the series got cancelled in 1970 they had to take them somewhere.
the staff emerging from Karolina's chest was heat. Imagine if she actually said, "WHEN BLOOD IS SHED LET THE STAFF OF ONE EMERGE."
Showing Peter drinking would harm the brand, but live rats are A-okay.
This show makes the comic feel so simple in comparison. Everything's so overcomplicated.

Why was Xavin betrothed to Karolina in the comics? To unite their warring people.

Why did Xavin think they were betrothed to Karolina in the show? WELL, THE PROPHECY...
BUT IN THAT CASE. Why was Xavin so hellbent on being betrothed to Karolina if the prophecy could be reinterpreted in that manner? Whatever, I'm sticking with the "guardian" thing and aren't going to overthink it.
Btw I noticed Gert hit her mother in the same way she was killed in the comics. Nice touch.

I don't THINK the show's saying Xavin's now betrothed to Karolina's newborn sister. I got the vibe they're saying they play like, a guardianship role to her.
