This is before they established Bobby's parents were bigoted. BUT, I believe this is the writer, DeMitteus, who did, and shortly before. So perhaps there will be hints. It does feel like a bit of a teaser for the Iceman miniseries at the very least.

Fury was 100% asking for this, after bragging that no one ever escapes from SHIELD (something which almost certainly isn't true by 1983).

Comics should have 40-60 pages of story and come out once every two months on cheaper paper and everyone should be paid more and we should still seize the wealth of the parent companies by force and distribute it to the creators

I'm a Mystique defender in so far as I'll defend her when people claim she only wanted Rogue for her power. She and Destiny absolutely, sincerely loved that girl.

Yeeeeah I don't know if we needed such a convoluted reason for the original defenders to disband. But I do like the new defenders. They're fun characters.

Something that confuses me of this era of Hulk, and maybe I should actually read his comic before wondering this. He's supposed to be Banner in control, right? But he has his preestablished relationship with the Defenders from when he was savage?

So the letters column mentions an upcoming Marvel Fanfare story by Claremont, Mantlo, and Blevins which will detail Angel's recovery after his injuries in UXM, but I can't find any such story. Wonder if I'm missing something or if it just never ended up happening.
