VAMPIRE HUNTER D: BLOODLUST is enjoying a very brief theatrical rerelease in SK right now, and I’m stupidly excited to get to see it on the big screen.

What movie do you consider perfect?

@andydiggle.bsky.social Green Arrow Year One is joining the compact line! Congratulations dude!

#SUPERMAN is super fun! It doesn’t need to be a perfect film to perfectly set the tone for the new DC movieverse, and I’m enthusiastically optimistic about what will come next.

Yes! The first arc of this series was sensational! Complex but satisfying plotting and some of the most charming and well-written versions of DC’s icons ever. I’m totally invested in what’s next.
GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT: A LEAGUE FOR JUSTICE begins with a recap of THE KRYPTONIAN AGE — so if you haven't read that yet, consider this a spoiler warning!

FINALLY seeing Sinners.

Deeply impressed with the work of Project A34K on ALIEN 3: THE LEGACY CUT. It's probably the most I've ever enjoyed the film; it's still disquietingly bleak, but I do admire its adamant refusal to be the sequel anyone wanted or expected.

Drawing my Fictional Crushes in Order of How Many Other People Liked Them on Bluesky Part 1:

Fukuo the Baker from Kiki's Delivery Service- he was by far the most popular in this very scientific method of sorting my fictional crushes by outside popularity haha. (Drew this on stream earlier)!

The definitive text on Lynch’s DUNE and genuinely one of the best books about filmmaking I’ve ever read. Physically it’s a thing of beauty but it’s also incredibly engaging and alive with the vibrant personalities of everyone involved.
2nd printing of my book from @1984prods.bsky.social! Note the blue “eyes of Ibad” gilding. Made corrections/added a few celeb cameos but it’s mostly the same tome. No paperback plans yet, so this is another chance for #dune fans to get the hardback… with Lynch’s DUNE turning 40 this December 14!

It really was an especially good one! Extra-nostalgic and timeless, with a wonderfully well-used guest star.
I just watched the latest episode of #StarTrekLowerDecks "Fully Dilated" im my Freistunde (planning period) and now I'll have to explain to my students why I'm all teary-eyed. 🥲 I'll just say I watched a wonderful episode of #StarTrek - they know me well enough, they'll understand! :-)

The new The Old Fools has a timeless Bob Dylan impersonation and some wholly unnecessary mockery of pretty much everything. Don't blame us, this is "your world" and we "just live in it" boomerphobes. We don't need you to like it, we just "want the hurt to stop..."

Time flies! Today marks exactly SIX YEARS since one of the best-ever uses of my academic resources: organizing a Star Trek 'study day' at KAIST and bringing the amazing Bo Yeon Kim (@extspace.bsky.social) to talk about her screenwriting experiences.

Now framed and hanging on my office wall, the pride of my #Dune collection: "Vanguard Battalion,” an original work of art by Walter Velez, used for the fondly-remembered Dune CCG produced by Last Unicorn Games in the late 1990s.

My big laugh in this week’s #LowerDecks was the turbolift proudly depositing two increasingly lost characters in the “Maintenance Labyrinth.”
One of my earliest big laughs from #StarTrekLowerDecks came in the sixth episode ("Terminal Provocations") with this soft voice in the distance saying, "Damn, Starbase 80?!"

Finally getting to visit the infamous SB80 this week did not disappoint.
