Currently living in Portugal, and looking back in horror.
While they're busy "Putting Christ back in Christmas", they should consider "putting Christ back in Christianity"

Republican lies. All day every day. $1500 won't even cover an ambulance ride to the hospital. And accusing the party that has been advocating for Medicare for All of being in the pocket of insurance companies is stupid. We all want to put insurance co.s out of business. Single payer for all!

I'm 55. She's young.

"Innocent young person is confronted with a life-or-death threat and has mere hours to solve brutally complex problems to save their life"
Plot of the next Saw movie or the US healthcare system?

He says each boat he sinks saves 25,000 American lives. Since there's about 100,000 overdose deaths a year, we've prevented every overdose for the next six years already!

Well, Senator Tom Cotton claims he CLEARLY saw two completely uninjured people attempting to flip over a 24' motorboat by themselves, while taking off his t-shirt to get a tan before proceeding to deliver their drugs.

OBVIOUSLY our missiles are defective.

Mandy Patinkin, "The Spaniard" from The Princess Bride, and a gifted Broadway talent, laying down the truth bars. From, of all things, a 9/11 Memorial.

The Trumps have been racist assholes since Woodie Guthrie sang about Fred Trump's housing discrimination in the 1940s and the Federal Government started suing them in the 1970s. You can't wash that stain out of his blood.

I'm sorry? Did she say "cocaine" or "fentanyl"? I thought the cassus belli was fentanyl...

Really? Well, serves me right for going off memory, then. When I was stationed overseas, I remember the list in the gatehouse being about 15 states long, and rather uniformly red. I stand corrected.

Let's not forget that the states who refused to implement RealID were all red states who "were afraid of oppressive government". Funny how they clam up when the fascists show up in red hats...

This should be entertaining. We finally get an answer to the age-old question of who can out-bribe who on the Supreme Court. Sony-BMG or Cox Cable over who has the right to not pay artists.

It means there's money on the table, not peace.

If Cam Kasky wins his primary, he goes on the list. Not that it's the reason NYers should vote for him, but it's A reason...

It's just the dog going for a walk.

Also, I am jealous of your snow. I will never see snow, here in Portugal, but my basil is still growing, so I can make pesto.

Not bad for a first attempt. Wait until 2027 when 5000 people die due to a bungled forecast of "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" because all the humans were fired.

I knew that. My HS lit journal was called "Ken". But we are now stuck with a single verb that covers everything from sexual intercourse to casual intellectual acquaintence. One of the few places where "donor languages" put us to shame with colorful options.

He's the Secretary of Health and Human Services. We already know his views on health. Are we going to have to find out what he thinks "human services" means now???

And, just to make things hard, they do the same thing as German with kennen/wissen.
Saber > to know facts or skills
Conhecer > to know people or concepts
