Unless I very specifically note otherwise, none of my posts are about men's college basketball. Awful sport. Thanks for coming, grab a chair, I don't do halves and I forgot what constitutes a 1 and 1. There's drinks in the fridge and chips on top of the washer bc we're running out of space
Whole lot going on in Tampa today, mostly buckets
In the two championship games of the Coconut Hoops MTE, Iowa State, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Florida put together a pair of games with an average score of 108-93

40 day extension. Many important symbolic meanings, mostly from the Bible. Maybe this can be WNBA Lent and people can stop doing insane discourse for 40 days. Or maybe this is our wandering temptation in the desert. Floating through floodwater? Whatever this 40 days is to you, it's gonna be weird

Assuming they use that whole window, that would already mean we're rearranging the offseason dates. Have to cement expansion draft rules, have everyone provide protected lists, negotiation period, then expansion draft itself. Typical offseason process start of Jan 11 wouldn't happen. #WNBA
Statement to ESPN from the WNBA: “The WNBA and WNBPA have agreed to extend the current CBA through January 9, 2026, with either party having the option to terminate the extension with 48 hours’ advance notice. The WNBA and WNBPA are continuing to work toward a new agreement.”

"We are in discussions over the length of the extension for the amount of time to have more discussions. When those are complete, we'll be able to discuss exactly what we'll be discussing during the extended discussion period."

With Stanford losing to FGCU today, WAKE FOREST is the last undefeated ACC team

If you had given me 10 tries before the season, I would not have guessed Wake would be the answer to this question
With Virginia Tech also falling to James Madison today, there are only 2 undefeated teams left in the ACC
Wake Forest and Stanford

Breaking News:
The Dallas Wings were pretty bad last year
They hope to be good in the future, preferably by acquiring good players through the draft, free agency, and/or trades

First time since the 2018 WNBA Draft that the Draft Lottery has gone exactly according to the odds.

Hmmmm the fact that the mathematically most likely outcome occurred means that I'm going to argue harder that this lottery was rigged and the outcome was predetermined. This is all part of Someone's Plan hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

North Texas shot 36% from the field, didn't make a single 3 pointer, missed 8 free throws, turned the ball over 23 times, allowed SMU to get 17 offensive rebounds, and had 6 total assists as a team

They defeated their in state power conference opponent 58-55

SMU might be really bad

Kennedy Smith is gonna be a pro for a long time. Her on ball defense is special, tremendous athlete at her size, and I've been impressed by her passing this season with her added offensive responsibilities.

Luckily for Baylor, Taliah Scott is absolutely fucking cooking right now
I genuinely don't know how Baylor generates offense if Taliah Scott isn't cooking 1 on 1

Hopefully, behind closed doors, discussions have been rather more complex. But from outside, it sure sounds like

League: "How about we bump the max to X and the minimum to Y? That's loads."
PA: "We still don't like that system. At all."
League: "Hmm. Well how about X+a bit and Y+a bit? Cool?" #WNBA
More details here on why the WNBPA feels the WNBA's CBA proposal misses key demands.

Sources told ESPN the players' union does not feel the league's proposal includes a system where the salary cap and player salaries sufficiently grow with the business.
