Allow me to add my voice to the chorus of commentators who believe that elected Democrats' response to Trump's blitz of lawlessness has been woefully insufficient. With some exceptions, this looks like total surrender. Embarrassing and alarming.

I’ve cared for infants who stopped breathing w/ pertussis.
School aged kids who died of flu or COVID.
And many of my patients can’t be vaccinated because they’re on chemotherapy or are immune compromised.
Vaccinations save lives of those who get them & those who cannot.
It’s that simple.

Important point for ER docs. This is correct. So don’t document “dead on arrival” bc if you do, insurance won’t cover *any* resuscitative efforts you may attempt. The family will get billed. Document death at whatever time you terminate efforts. Also: DOA may result in denial of coverage for

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)
