It seems as if he was in over
his head from Day 1 as the HC, and I have some sympathy for what that did to his mental state.

This criticism only makes sense if you think that the Dem caucus is trying to use the popularity of these issues to win elections in the pursuit of addressing the increasingly authoritarian actions of the GOP. Pretty clear to me they are not!
