With the news this morning, the reality is that I’m once again disappointed. Disappointed because I believe it still won’t matter. We’ve all seen this movie before, but plenty of people are pretending the reboot will somehow be different.

Terrible movie with terrible characters and you don’t want to root for any of them. The fact that people find this romantic explains so much about our society.
What if the whole movie was side plots?

Love Actually.

Days like today are when I really miss my mom. Because all the energy spent on trying to make the world a better place and feeling like it’s still getting worse… I could use some sort of pep talk. To say that, even if it doesn’t feel like it, it will get better and it’s worth the fight.

For once, I believe him.

I’m also hearing the same thing… directly from many of those people
Hearing from insiders that the WA House and Senate Dems are PISSED at Bob Ferguson, and need the @wadems.org to step it up and make a stand for the wealth tax

Agreed. I’m really looking forward to living in some normal, boring times. But I’m also not sure that’s ever going to happen.
Someone on my chat asked me what historical event I wish I could’ve lived through.

My answer was none of them.

I watched 9/11 happen live from my dorm room. I was at work when we invaded Iraq. We remember the start of the pandemic. God only knows what we’re about to hit.

I can’t wait to be bored.

In his campaign for Gov, Bob Fergusom promised to "stand up for working families and the most vulnerable in our state." Instead, he's fighting to preserve Washington's 2nd-in-the-nation most regressive tax code. Join our mass state worker rally on 4/9 at Olympia. #WaLeg #WashingtonForAll #TaxTheRich

I’ve spent the last six days cleaning out my mom’s house… and it’s so fucking depressing. But not just because of grief, but because it’s a reminder of the broken system we live under. This was a woman who worked her ass off, played by all the rules, did everything asked of her… and nothing worked.

Most everyone agrees that every single DOC reentry center in Washington is needed.

Yet both the House, the Senate and Governor Bob Ferguson have proposed closing them.

Let's make the rich start paying taxes before we skimp on public safety, @governorferguson.bsky.social.

Why is everyone so shocked Pikachu that the Fox News guy, who is covered in Nazi tattoos and assaults women, is completely incompetent and a terrible human? Why are we surprised that anyone in this fascist regime is absolute hot garbage? I’m not.

We are truly in the dumbest timeline… and now I’m like “will
I die from measles? E. Coli? Plane crash? Bridge collapse? Executed for standing up to the fascist regime?”

I’m not 100% convinced that the machines didn’t wipe out humanity during COVID and this is just a broken matrix. Or we’re in a torture purgatory, like in The Good Place.

Did you ever watch the TV show “The Good Place?” The Good Place Committee is today’s Democratic Party… evil demons running around destroying everything and they’re obsessed with “process” and strongly worded letters!

Check the date… you all knew exactly what he was going to do, and you let him. I hope it haunts all of you until the end of days.
Trump’s closing message is a full blown hate campaign against black and brown people. Historians will look back in astonishment that this terrifying reality wasn’t the subject of wall to wall coverage and commentary in weeks leading up to this election. He’s not hiding anything.

The lawsuits and holding up appointments are definitely something. But it’s not enough. The working class needs to organize and get to work. Slowdowns. General strike. Work to rule. We need job actions at every worksite across the country. Show them who actually keeps society going. Hint… we do!

Washington is a frustrating state to be a Democrat in. We have so many “safe” seats and the GOP is so generally unhinged here (there are a few exceptions) that most of our elected dems, frankly, suck but the alternative is usually a literal white supremacist.
