One of the great under-reported stories of Trump’s ignorance (insanity?) is that for years he has made repeated comments about stealth fighters which suggest he believes they are literally invisible in the sky. His weirdness cannot be overstated.
Trump: The whole stealth thing—I'm sort of wondering. We shape a wing this way, they don’t see it but the other way they see it? I’m not so sure.

Mehdi is right: almost all of us who work on genocide now agree that Israel is committing it on Gaza. I came to that conclusion in October 2023, when it was already clear that they intended to destroy and kill on a massive scale. Sadly, everything they have done since has confirmed that I was right.
"Apologists for Israel might want to reject the charge of genocide [and] suggest its hyperbole or even antisemitic, but the actual experts on genocide know a genocide when they see one - and they see one in Gaza."

My receipts on all the experts who say Gaza *is* a genocide.

So why are we in the UK allowing Palantir - closely allied with Musk’s DOGE - access to our NHS data?
🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords

Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:

It’s extraordinary that so much media still reports on Trump with the old, redundant tools of the trade. He lied about Ukraine, then he tried to extort Ukraine, and having failed he threatens to walk away from Ukraine. The idea that he was ever going to do anything unwelcome to Putin is ridiculous.

If you wondered whether PROOF was correct that Trump and Bukele are now in the international slave trade, here is breaking news revealing that Bukele wants to sell the 250 slaves Trump sold _him_ to Venezuela.

Unreal. Vile. And a Crime Against Humanity.
El Salvador proposes sending US-deported Venezuelans to Venezuela
El Salvador President Nayib Bukele on Sunday proposed a deal to send 252 Venezuelans deported from the U.S. and imprisoned in his country to Venezuela, in exchange for taking "political prisoners" being held in Venezuela.

People spend a lot of time wondering why the left is worse at using independent media to control the national narrative.

A useful exercise is to ask why the left is also worse at selling snake oil and pyramid schemes, because I think the reasons are basically exactly the same.

Trump has now asked Elon Musk to examine US defence spending. Elon Musk’s companies have multi billion dollar contracts with the Department of Defense and are seeking more. The BBC’s Today Programme just reported the first part, without mentioning the second. Unacceptable

Nothing drives the far-left more insane than praising moderate conservatives, but it's hard to think of anything of greater importance right now. We are seeing widespread radicalisation on the right, almost daily, toward ever more extreme positions. And there's hardly anyone speaking out against it.
The radicalisation of much of the right in Britain far exceeds that of the left under Corbyn. (I say that as a staunch critic of Corbyn).

It's essential that decent Conservatives speak out, if they don't want the likes of Cummings, Oakeshott and Jenrick to prostitute their tradition to an arsonist.

Your reminder that the under-use of our courtrooms - at a time of record trial backlogs - is deliberate government policy.

It began under the last government, and continues under this one.

Because criminal justice only matters when there’s a cheap tabloid headline to be won.
📈Today, 14 January 2025, 109 out of the 516 Crown courtrooms in England & Wales will not be sitting.
That's 21% of them.

This is spot on from @ioponomarenko.bsky.social Not only has the Biden administration’s ‘escalation terror’ prolonged this war, and given Putin time to mobilise, it has emboldened others like Iran & China who now perceive the U.S. & the West now have little stomach to defend the post-WW2 order.
I feel genuinely devastated, and you know why.
