If it’s 10 November, it must be... yes, of course: the 55th anniversary of Sacheen Littlefeather being crowned Miss American Vampire by Regis Philbin as part of a promotion for American TV show Dark Shadows (before she went on to be more famous for turning down Marlon Brando’s Oscar…)

Francoist forces began their assault on the Spanish capital, Madrid.
The fascists expected a quick win, but it took 2.5 years to break through.
More on football's role in the defence of Madrid in my book, The Defiant: A History of Football Against Fascism.

Brendan Madden is my guest, and we cover topics as varied as General Franco to Michael Robinson via Johan Cruyff's failed venture into pig farming...

There’s another one on the Beyond the Machines album… think it might be the last track called Poh Mi Roh where I think the Dad has played guitar or produced most of it. It’s a real chugger.

The whole epic drum roll was a "thing" and a bit, well shit.
This did it proper! That 303 line dropping in, those vocals building, her voice soaring over the top 🧨🧨🧨
