My 2002 Celica was on the verge of giving up the ghost, and I managed to summon enough of a downpayment to make this 2015 4Runner possible. I made my first loan payment yesterday! Like my ‘95 Pathfinder before, it has been pre-dented for my convenience. 4WD! Lift kit! Steel bumpers!

I used to have a tortie cat who would let me roll her on her back and blow farts on her belly. It took at least three good ones before I found my head in the hall of whirling knives. Goddammit I miss that cat.

New acquisition, Assembled from parts- none of this is actual Fender, yet it’s closer to that ideal precision tone than my other 2.

I’m alive. Busy as all fuck with the new job, and doing a digital detox, refocusing my doomscrolling time back to projects and music. Gonna be at least 6 weeks before I resurface. I’ll leave you with a pic of this beauty, which took an odd and eventful and circuitous path back home.

We’ve been waiting on a contractor for a ventilation fix to our AC system at work that’s causing the production area to become overly-smoky due to the large conveyor dryers. In the meantime, resourceful employees have taken matters into their own hands and created The Very Large Box Fan Array.

Last night at The Hole on the Wall for Flak Record Swap (benefiting a worthwhile cause-I should know this!) Larry Seaman with Jon Sanchez on guitar was excellent! Go see those guys! Caught some great bands before & after Coffee Sergeants set.

In case you haven’t seen me brag elsewhere, my kid is a lead electrical test engineer on Orion. They texted this pic while it was orbiting the moon & said “I tested everything you see in the picture, including the camera that took it.” I said “Did you test the Earth & Moon?” (dads r gonna dad)

The guy on the left invited us to stay at his house for a week. We had people in sleeping bags in the living room, his office, we ate like kings, it was amazing. This isn’t the whole group- I realized as we were trailing off we hadn’t done a group shot so this is the stragglers from the 1st one.
