If you have the opportunity, I insist that you take it and see the “Ben Folds and a Piano” tour. It was intimate and enlightening. And while I came in to his music through lyrics and songcraft, Dude can bang on a piano like nobody’s business. Go!

I used to have a tortie cat who would let me roll her on her back and blow farts on her belly. It took at least three good ones before I found my head in the hall of whirling knives. Goddammit I miss that cat.

New acquisition, Assembled from parts- none of this is actual Fender, yet it’s closer to that ideal precision tone than my other 2.

I’m alive. Busy as all fuck with the new job, and doing a digital detox, refocusing my doomscrolling time back to projects and music. Gonna be at least 6 weeks before I resurface. I’ll leave you with a pic of this beauty, which took an odd and eventful and circuitous path back home.

In other work-news, I have finally prevailed in my effort to hire my former right-hand man from previous job. It may go a long way toward making this place a tenable for me. I came in prepared to enact big changes, which are still needed ,but have had to content myself with small incremental change.

We’ve been waiting on a contractor for a ventilation fix to our AC system at work that’s causing the production area to become overly-smoky due to the large conveyor dryers. In the meantime, resourceful employees have taken matters into their own hands and created The Very Large Box Fan Array.

Wow, the dead cat bounce was barely a little ledge in the cliff that lasted 3 hours this morning.
When are the margin calls gonna come due? If the market is leveraged like it was in 2007, this could start to collapse banks pretty soon.

So place your bets. I’m guessing tomorrow the Dow is down between 1800 & 2300 points by the end of the day and the NASDAQ is down 750-850. Tuesday there will be a slight rally, then Wednesday it happens again.

And now the Coffee Sergeants have landed a gig at Gruene Hall opening for Los Texmaniacs w/ Jimmie Vaughan. Why is this happening to me at 62, 2 years after I retired from music? It’s fucking impossible to get into Gruene Hall. It’s the MSG of old time dance halls.
