This policy change makes sense when you remember that Project 2025 architect, Dustin Carmack, is in charge of policy at Meta. When I uncovered this, he deactivated his LinkedIn.

Project 2025 wants to classify trans people as pornographic and ban us from public.

I cannot express how bad this story is for generative AI. OpenAI is burning hundreds of millions of dollars to try and make GPT-5 a meaningful upgrade, and it isn't working. Where does all of this go? How does this result in anything?

Escape From New York? For Thanksgiving, You Have to Have a Plan.
Getting to any of the airports that serve New York City can take too long or cost too much. Devising a way to ease the journey is its own holiday ritual.

The problem with pieces like this, which are countless, is the prevailing media assumption that left-of-center Americans need constant corrective instruction about how to be in and engage with the world, whereas right-of-center Americans are simply to be observed in awe, like rainbows or mountains.
Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?

Mini story:

When I came out to my boss at work, one of the first questions I got was about the bathroom. Which one would I use, would the company need a gender neutral one, etc. I was able to firmly say to him "I will use the bathroom I am supposed to, the women's room." (1/x)
1. Transgender Congresswoman Sarah McBride has announced that she will comply with Speaker Johnson's policy declaring her a man and banning trans people from bathrooms.

She is receiving sharp critiques from those with trans friends who work in the capitol.

The decision comes after Mike Johnson declared that transgender people are not allowed in bathrooms of their gender identity under the provision that he "controls the facilities."

Now I was able to say that to him because he knew me and I had a good relationship and support. He was able to advocate, when discussion of the availability of a gender neutral bathroom was brought up, he was able to also say that "I would use the bathroom of my gender." (2/x)

I would not be segregated, but if anyone had an issue with me in the restroom, they were welcome to use the gender neutral one at their inconvenience. I was the first transgender woman at the workplace and the key was I had support from upper management. (3/x)

This silence from Democratic leadership is endemic to why their brand is toxic. My boss was not the greatest ally to trans people, but he knew what support actually was, especially in a work place. The proper response to this seems simple, especially in light of my experience (4/x)

It seems like a no-brainer for payers to cover GLP-1s and yet it’s still an uphill battle sometimes. So many health problems stem from obesity, surely this has got to be cost-effective
NC HHS Sec Kody Kinsley: I’m very bullish about GLP-1s. NC Medicaid program one of first in country to choose to cover the drugs. why: I think about long-term care costs that are out of control and growing rapidly as people age, he said.
