Why is this even allowed? A person arrested & due to appear in court, especially when that person is found guilty of a serious crime, shouldn’t be allowed to not attend court ie for sentencing or hearing a victim statement.

What we're seeing is exactly what we saw in the late 1940s, the late 1960s and the mid- to late 1970s: a concerted and hysterical campaign to delegitimise a Labour government, and indeed the very idea of Labour governments at all.

We (the U.K.) have a very strange way of trying to succeed as a country. Elect a government, doesn’t really matter what colour, and then encourage the media to rip them apart, both personally and professionally, over the next four years so that a different party is elected. Rinse and repeat 🤷‍♂️!

Oh dear. Open goal missed.

It's not "the Brexit deal" that's the problem. That's the Labour line. That framing leaves the door open to the notion that a different Brexit deal might have worked.

No. Brexit itself is the problem. Inherently unworkable.

Depressing that you can't tell the difference.
The tide is turning. Even the Telegraph is now admitting the damage the Brexit deal has done to the economy.

Satellite data suggests the scale of the problem is vast - between 8000 + 13,000 illegal waste sites in the UK. Regulators are under-resourced to meet this challenge. They closed 700 dumps last year - a huge number until compared to the full number of sites.
