It's 9:30 a.m. and I'm watching the Nevada Assembly decide if they want to allow two assembly members to participate remotely (apparently while one of them is on vacation?) before they vote on the Film Tax Credit bill.

What are you watching?

All my random politically unaware friends are making Trump/Epstein jokes. You know what they haven’t said? “I heard Hakeem Jeffries promise to lower the cost of groceries”
The usual suspects are telling Dems that Epstein won’t win elections, get back to “affordability” and I think my head might explode. www.offmessage.net/p/force-a-re...

Perhaps it's because I spent too long in minor party politics, but I've developed something of a soft spot for turning parliamentary procedure into trench warfare.
An unusual procedural maneuver almost sunk a proposed multibillion dollar expansion of film tax credits on the first day of the Nevada Legislature’s special session.

The naked hostility between Nevada's teachers unions is bizarre and inscrutable to most who live here, much less anyone watching from outside, but it sometimes leads to unexpected results.
The union representing Clark County School District teachers is endorsing Gov. Joe Lombardo in his re-election bid, a coup for the Republican who has worked with the union on bills raising education funding and school discipline.

The endorsement a shift from the 2022 election cycle, when the Clark County Education Association declined to back Lombardo or then-incumbent Gov. Steve Sisolak (D).
