Nice research! I worked @AMC backcountry huts-essentially hiker hostels. The 1st hut was built in 1890s & trails established pre-1880s. Trail Crew (TFC) viewed hut crew as ‘soft’ but they regularly enjoyed a good meal w/ us. TFC had high ‘esprit d’corps’ + worked like wolves. AMC = a feather in cap.

I used the wrong term previously. Adverse possession applies if you were living on another’s property. If you and others have been walking out to visit the lighthouse for many years without notice that you could not likely means you (and others) have acquired what is called a prescriptive easement.

Depending on how long you and others have been going out there, You likely have established your right to access that place via adverse possession - can you or others document a long term and consistent use of this place? Seek out a land use lawyer for advice!

We have western kingbirds in Oregon, and occasionally the eastern kingbird. I was told that the way to identify the eastern Kingbird was that it looks like a western kingbird wearing a tuxedo. That seems appropriate for your Central Park siting!
