It would be one thing having a "debate" on immigration if people meant they wanted a "debate" based on facts. But what most people seem to mean when they say they want a debate is that is they want us to pretend a bunch of entirely made up bullshit is true.

According to @unhcr.org, there are 18.7 million forcibly displaced people in Europe, of which approximately 12.7 million are from either Syria or Ukraine.
Less than 1% of that 18.7 million (about 163,000) have "chosen" Ireland and the vast majority (almost 113,000) are from Ukraine.

I'm in the photo, but I had very little to do with the successful delivery of this workshop - @lankylaste.bsky.social, Sara Salgueiro Torres, @martinjones.bsky.social, Cameron Shand and @k-meech.bsky.social did all the heavy lifting.

Someone asked me today if I had any recommended guides for developing #FIJI plugins. It's not something I've been doing a whole lot of in recent years, so my memory is a little hazy. I did refer to this extensively during my PhD and PostDoc, but maybe people have other/better suggestions?
