In no particular order, this is about: OFMD (primarily stizzy), curséd politics, rhetoric, teaching college writing, soap, candles, and fiber arts || pfp: lovedhands || he/him, old, gay, and trans
I'd rather read a novel made all the more rich by being written originally as a passion project than the same Iowa Writers Workshop novel 9000x

Like the New Testament has four versions of the same Gospel for crying out loud. Why do we undercut retellings and inspiration from other stories

Shakespeare himself revised folktales and all kinds of other literature. It's just part of the creative process

Like we don't have to do this. We don't have to go after authors for revising their fan work for a broader audience and we don't have to, as writers, feel bad about writing fan work

I agree with you and also think this contributes to people pivoting their hobby to a business before they're skilled enough to do so. Part of the problem is you have to make a lot of things before you get good at making a thing

In the US this problem is made infinity worse by the government agency in charge of vaccine messaging telling everyone to space out and maybe not get vaxxed

If we talked more about what to do and knew what to do to make it less bad I think that would help influence people.

I realize this reply seems like I disagree with you, but I don't! I also think misinfo is a big problem. There's just a lot going on

That is possible but I think it is human nature to complain about vaccine side effects. I have IRL friends who will put off getting vaxxed for legit scheduling reasons...but then just never get around to it. I worry about the habit of getting vaxxed and then complaining about it influencing them

It's not a Seattle-only problem but if the Seattle Times can run an article blaming something on unhoused people they will do it as fast as they can

Anyways register your bike, don't leave it for >12 hours locked up somewhere that's high theft, lock it well. My bike has been stolen like four times in three different cities this is how I learned my lesson lol. It SUCKS.

Nothing in the article about bike safety or local county bike registrations or what to actually do if your bike gets stolen even though that's what the headline tried to telegraph

Watching Seattle Republicans and their fans bend over backwards for the police when they have been on an organized work slowdown for five years is hilariously on brand
