‪Anyone who has read any of the dozen-plus books I have written knows what a deeply patriotic American I am.

But Europeans are on the right side here. The junta in control of the US right now is on the wrong side. of everything.

If I were not American, I'd be avoiding American goods and services.
France announced today it’s phasing out Teams, Zoom, etc. to be replaced with a French/European solution called Visio. The data is hosted on Outscale. Transcripts and subtitles are also handled by French providers. The target is set on 2027 for government agencies.

To my Republican colleagues who know better but remain silent in the face of mounting violence and corruption, I ask this sincerely: why did you come to Congress? Was it to defend the Constitution, the rule of law, and the people you represent, or to look the other way when it becomes inconvenient?

I'm going to say a couple of things about Alex Pretti's handgun, that I don't think people who do not shoot will initially understand.

This photo was almost immediately distributed by the feds. I think that doing so was, for them and their attempt to whitewash the murder, a *huge* error.

Trump backing down to public pressure is a good thing. But let's be clear. Noem, Miller, Bovino, etc. all followed his lead. He called protesters terrorists. He dehumanized Somali immigrants. He lied about Good and Pretti. He owns all of it.

He'll also probably change his mind tomorrow.
ABC: Noem said Pretti committed an act of domestic terrorism. Stephen Miller labeled him a domestic terrorist. Does the president agree?

LEAVITT: I have not heard the president characterize Mr Pretti in that way

Secretary Noem, your administration now openly authorizes ICE agents to forcibly enter people's homes without a judicial warrant.

That is blatantly unconstitutional – ICE cannot authorize itself to break into people’s homes.

If ICE attempts such unconstitutional measures in Washington...

No member of the GOP is required to continue complicity. At any moment, they are free to simply walk away. Or, even better, start speaking out against it.
Attorney Chris Madel said he is ending his campaign for Minnesota governor because of the national GOP’s “retribution” on his state, referring to ICE operations that he described as an “unmitigated disaster.”

Trump has imposed tariffs using emergency measures—designed for things like an oil embargo amidst a war—despite the undeniable fact that no emergency exists.

As @stevebenen.com and @gregsargent.bsky.social explain, Trump using them for non-economic, non-emergency goals is evident in his statements.

Interesting. Stephen Miller is looking increasingly isolated inside the White House as others start realizing that deliberate, concerted ethnonationalist brutality and sadism is hurting Republicans politically.

In a democracy, the government is accountable to citizens. Trump officials believe citizens are accountable to them, on penalty of death.
Q: Between your agency and ICE, we've known seen 2 people shot and killed with 17 days. Do either of you plan to take any accountability?

BOVINO: You're correct. Two suspects have been shot. And suspects that assault or threaten a law enforcement officer's life, it goes back to poor choices.
