I have a friend who read Pale Fire in college and one of the students thought they’d gotten some weird heavily notated version and only read the poem. When the class started discussing they were like “yo are there two books with this title?”

I've had a similar experience getting people to watch Rome. They're like "But it's just history", and 5 episodes in they're like "Titus Pullo is the greatest character in literary history."
