Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since.
That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

I notice a large number of Americans, probably Dems but you never know, saying we can't treat all Americans the same, THEY didn't vote for Trump... whenever it is a woman I shake my head real hard. There is a reason "Not all men" is a bullshit line. We have to assume all Americans are dangerous.

2025 is almost behind us, and although a lot of the year was a struggle, and a lot of my life got rough, it also saw a new door open towards the end of the year that put me in what I think is a really good position for seeing a really great 2026. First time since 2019 things are looking up.
