It doesn't beat out Winter Soldier or First Avenger for me, but Fantastic Four: First Steps is easily a top five for me in the MCU. Maybe top three. I was grinning like an idiot through the entire opening sequence and completely invested in the rest of it.

Sharing in case this flew completely under anyone else's radars. I was just introduced to the existence of this on Saturday by the @desertbus.org DB Express. Kind of Blue is *the* quintessential jazz album for me so this is a really neat tribute and re-contextualization of it.

Apparently Yuji Horii confirmed a Chrono Trigger remake during an interview at Comicon Naples. He then said through translator "You have heard nothing" after apparently realizing what just happened

Please be true. Don't fuck with me on this. Trigger is a top five game for me. Maybe top three. It absolutely blew my mind when I first experienced it as to what video game narratives could be and do.
Wanted some more turn of the century dark fantasy with non-traditional takes on turn based battles after finishing up Clair Obscur, so I booted up Shadow Hearts Covenant. Now here's a series that desperately needs a remaster to get it in front of modern gamers. Throw in a Koudelka remake as well.

Wanted some more turn of the century dark fantasy with non-traditional takes on turn based battles after finishing up Clair Obscur, so I booted up Shadow Hearts Covenant. Now here's a series that desperately needs a remaster to get it in front of modern gamers. Throw in a Koudelka remake as well.
Finished up the Clair Obscur main story just now. I won't get into spoiler territory here, but man, what a hauntingly beautiful narrative. It pivoted from an "essence of human resilience" narrative into something I truly wasn't expecting. Easily a top contender for GOTY 2025 personally.

How does anyone at Sandfall walk around without tripping over their balls? I have to imagine that they're massive for the studio to be taking these kinds of storytelling risks with their debut title.

I too have very fond memories of Legend of Dragoon. But Expedition 33 having QTE events throughout their battles does not immediately make it an appropriate comparison. This is souped up "timed hits" from Super Mario RPG.

A few hours in and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an absolute banger so far. Going to be watching Sandfall closely from here on out

I've done some math, and in the 18 months I've had my Marvel Unlimited subscription reactivated and started reading through the back issues, I've read somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,100-2,200 issues from '61 to '85. The variance is from issues on the reading list that aren't on the app.
