Last night I announced my intention to run for an open Assembly seat in AD-75 — and I did it in the only place I can imagine doing so: @socialists.nyc
A beautiful day to stand with New Yorkers and say: the new gilded age ends here. We’re going to take the wealth that working people create every day and invest it to build a city and state that puts working people, not billionaire donors, first.
TAX THE RICH!

75% for AD-75! 🎉

Thank you to every @socialists.nyc member who voted to endorse our potential run. A true honor to know I have the backing and support of fellow democratic socialists, and to share this with @dianamor.bsky.social and Aber Kawas!

Now, onward to our branch forum!

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Tomorrow at noon we launch an essential fight for the affordability agenda. Zohran can’t do it alone. It will take a movement to push Albany to put working New Yorkers before billionaire donors and tax the rich. Join us!

Almost 400 people from New York and beyond have already signed on to be Day One supporters. This campaign will be powered by neighbors, families, and workers who know our district can be so much more than a playground for the wealthy.

On Tuesday, Americans delivered a message to democrats in the loudest possible terms: DON'T CAVE. But instead of meeting the moment, Schumer is smothering it. We need leaders willing to fight authoritarianism and oligarchy tooth and nail.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Lindsey’s tenacious bravery in speaking out against Cuomo’s treatment of women was the first domino that helped bring us to last night’s victory. I’m proud to call her a friend and a fellow Democratic Socialist.

Almost a year ago, we hosted a small fundraiser in our living room for a friend, organizer, and socialist in office running what felt like a long-shot campaign for mayor.

Look at how far we've come. When we fight together, we win.

And we’re just getting started. 🌹❤️‍🔥

Honored to share some words with @socialists.nyc members and @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social supporters on a historic night.

We've got a city to win.
We've got a state to win.
We've got a country to win.
We've got a world to win.

Early this morning, our city still plunged into darkness, I set off to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

As the sun came up, we were joined by canvassers, labor leaders, elected officials, and working people — a movement to bring a new day to our city.

Tomorrow, we win it together.

The amount of hustle @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and
@socialists.nyc have shown in the last week is beyond belief. Legendary stuff worthy of the history books.

Climate has not come up very much in the span of this mayoral election. Yet we had record-breaking heat at the end of the primary and now at the end of the general a flash flood that killed two New Yorkers.

We should be talking a lot more about climate change.
A 39-year-old man died after he became trapped in a flooded basement in Brooklyn, as sudden heavy, record-setting rains brought flash flooding to the New York area, the police said.

Much of the rainfall came in an intense 20-minute period in the afternoon, officials said. A record two inches fell at LaGuardia Airport.

The Islamophobic attacks against @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social are the disgusting last gasp of a dynasty and way of doing politics New Yorkers are ready to turn the page on.
The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.

And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.

No more.

I am so proud of my DSA comrades on delegation 🥲 You all stretched yourselves be on this trip, and to listen, learn and grow in your understanding of Cuban socialism. I'm so excited to see what we will do together to lift the blockade.

When my grandparents arrived from Cuba, the U.S. gave them healthcare and residency after a year — not out of compassion, but Cold War politics. Still, that support changed their lives. Every immigrant deserves the same welcome, not walls and raids. www.cityandstateny.com/opinion/2025...
Opinion: Words of condemnation aren’t enough. Lawmakers must pass anti-ICE legislation.
If we fail as lawmakers to match our words with action, we're giving ICE the green light to escalate.

Ask any NYer, they'll tell you our street vendors are not only welcome here - they are part of what makes New York New York. ICE cannot be allowed to rip our neighbors away from us w/ impunity. NY must not cooperate w/ the forces stealing people from our own streets.
