Del Toro's Frankenstein is what you get when you nail down the story you want to tell first, get solid actors in, have a director with a proper idea of what he wants, get a great production team on board, and give the effects teams the time they need to do their job properly.

For years I've seen people point at various governments and loudly shout about how they're a disaster and the worst government in history, because they made a couple of choices a few folks didn't like.
Nice of the US to give us an actual benchmark for what historically bad government looks like.
