Trespasses is great TV and a reminder that small, barely noticed actions can have the most dramatic of consequences.

It’s the same kind of people who complain about the word “Christmas” not appearing on mince pie packaging that are behind this sort of thing because, guess what, it’s not really Christmas they care about, it’s the thought of the world looking out for anyone but them.

Okay. I've just finished reading Richard Marson's Box of Delights: The Story of BBC Children's Television, and I really can't recommend it enough. A celebration of, and elegy for, an incredible epoch in which dedicated vocational programme-makers were given the freedom to innovate and experiment.

Quartet in Autumn is just relentlessly funny. Chuckling away to myself on the train which probably got me pegged as one of Pym’s eccentrics.

I've just come across the word "elflock" in a book - matted hair as if mischievously/magically tangled by elves, and it's so great I am determined to use it ASAP. Ps, I know Shakespeare used it, I just hadn't seen it for a long time.
