Something very strange is happening to the Web. Finding something from the past on search engines is eroding. Atemporality replaced by an immediate, constantly vanishing, consumerist hyper-present. What we thought was an infinite Borges-ian library turning into Amazon checkout with a ticking clock…
Google is changing up search. What does that mean for news publishers?
A shift to AI-generated search results will decrease the traffic that Google sends to publishers' sites, as more people get what they need straight from the Google search page instead.

Borges is wild. Could have stretched this out into a novel but just finds the one amazing moment and does that. One page. Job done.

Threads is the worst. Massively psychologically damaging to scroll thru feed of factory-installed celebs who suck & brands. Better to be hatecrimed on Twitter or vibe-policed by some weird teenager named BipsyWolf on here. I wish it ill.

Man, Apple must have a huge launch coming up if something as significant as Final Cut and Logic coming to the iPad (as Apple's first-ever subscription Pro apps, no less!) doesn't even make the cut for the big show.

Bluesky is still playful, no one is using it to further anything in particular at the moment. Be it a career, a business , perspective , product. The free wheeling silliness and total lack of performative thought leadership.

what’s so striking about bluesky is the stark reality / reminder that Twitter had nearly zero meaningful protectable intellectual property. it had all brand goodwill, engineering talent, its user base, network effects, and vibes, and Elon has spent the last six months torching it all to the ground.

Remember when Excel got rid of accountants and DreamWeaver got rid of web devs and Visual Basic got rid of programmers and Publisher got rid of graphic designers.

It's called Bluesky, Tone. Not an app but a prototype thing. People flockin' to that place after Twitter put the kibosh on the word "subway" or somethin'. I swear it's a whole circus, T.
