They're never gonna like you, dude. No matter how much you disavow the radicals in your party and concede to their framing of every issue and move to the center on anything popular, Republicans are never going to like you. There's no reason to preserve decorum on behalf of these people.

You could argue over whether the man himself is a socialist or not (who cares), but Mamdani's policies aren't. He's not a radical guy. This red scare stuff they're trying to pin on him is complete nonsense.

I'm not sure there's ever been a more clear cut, obvious, over the top example of "liberals hate communists more than fascists" than everything that's come out of their mouths over the last few days
Democratic congresswoman Laura Gillen says of Mamdani's win: "We are not socialist."
"I think it's incumbent upon my Democratic colleagues to speak up and say what our party stands for."

No offense but if your entire timeline is cartoon pornography you really shouldn't be surprised when people don't take your positions about political optics seriously

It’s okay, man. I’ve also gotten dressed out of the lost and found after forgetting my tuxedo at home the day of the jazz band concert. Happens to the best of us.

The bomber with the rainbow flag meme is a Rorschach test: are you on the ground, or are you the one flying the plane? Your answer says a lot about your priorities. The point isn't to create a society that builds a kinder bomb. The point is not to drop them at all because they might fall on you too.

Here's what it really is (I think): regular unbranded American Protestantism, in spite of its history, has made great strides recently toward progress and acceptance. The reactionaries fled to Catholicism, which they view as more "real" due to its historical influence over the Western™ world. 1/

Hate to call this a trend but I have a feeling this is the same phenomenon that happened with Catholics a few years ago. Arguably most of these guys are philbros who will wash out back to whatever Discord debate forum they came from once they get bored with the aesthetics.
Across the U.S., Orthodox Christianity is attracting energetic new adherents, especially among conservative young men. “In the whole history of the Orthodox Church in America, this has never been seen,” a priest said about the influx of new attendees at many parishes.

It is genuinely incredible to me how much evidence there is to support investing in the public good and how much animus there is to do this simple, effective thing.
