"Annoyed, but dealing with it," then, now and always

Appreciator of Felis catus
Georgetown coach Ed Cooley on the Hoyas' 83-70 victory: "I thought we played for 11 minutes. If the game was 11 minutes, I'd be really, really happy. ... We want to get better every single time, and I thought we got better today for 11 minutes when we came out of the locker room [after half]."

Made the drive from Tenleytown to the Burr. Settled in for a second game.

Grambling (1-1) visits Howard (1-1) in a matchup of teams that have a victory over a non-Division I team and a loss to a P5 team that was in the NCAA tourney last year (Grambling to Iowa State, Howard to Missouri).

Another weekend of college football is in full swing. @d1scourse.bsky.social is here to break it down.

Indiana and Texas Tech stayed in the hunt for spots in their conference title games, while Deion Sanders and Colorado secured a losing record for the season.
Analysis | College football winners and losers: The catch of the year saves Indiana
Omar Cooper Jr. made an acrobatic catch in the end zone with 36 seconds left, and the Hoosiers stayed unbeaten with a 27-24 victory over Penn State.

"Andalusian Iverson" is a thoroughly stupendous construction.
If Buzz wins this game with the Andalusian Iverson starting, time to start carving the statue.
Georgetown starters: Mack, Lewis, Abraham, Williams, Halaifonua

Maryland starters: Adams, Mills, Del Pino, Saunders, Payne

So a bit of a programming note that wasn't worth mentioning until someone brought it up.

Because of how repetitive this is going to be early, the #MarylandScoringList will be on hiatus until sometime in December. Haven't decided when, but probably not until at least one guy is up around 150 points.
It's going to be an interesting year to do the career Maryland scoring list tracker postgames you've done before if you plan to do them this year. A LOT of low numbers with a basically all-new roster.

Greetings from the Queen City of the Paint Branch Drainage Basin.

Georgetown (1-0) makes the trip to Maryland (1-0) for the first time in a decade. Only the sixth meeting between the schools since the Hoyas won in the 1980 NCAA tournament.

Morgan State's Kevin Broadus: "You saw us last year, right? Our defense was atrocious. We were top 5 percent in scoring in the country. We scored 80 points a game and we just couldn't defend anyone. That's been an emphasis the whole preseason and our team is leaps and bounds better defensively."

Georgetown's Ed Cooley on the Hoyas' 87-70 victory: "I think our overall depth was able to wear them down a little bit. ... I thought our overall speed today really showed, especially in transition. We did not shoot the ball well, so there's a big question mark."
