In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

Thank you for sharing 2022 statistics on poverty levels.
@kpateonthehill.bsky.social Statistics need to be revisited in 2026 as increasing number of older women over 65 are obliged to continue working due to Canada's serious gender gap in outdated pension system, which discriminates against women.
Most people living in poverty in Canada are working or live in families where someone works. 👇👇👇
Many people still think of poverty as something that happens when people don’t work. But the reality is different: majority of people who live in poverty in Canada are working or live in families who work. @gillianpetit.bsky.social and my 2026 chart to watch www.theglobeandmail.com/business/eco...

Yep. The breakdown of the polar vortex (which used to keep cold air in the very high latitudes) is caused by the human-caused climate changes in the Arctic.
Can't believe I have to say this but climate change is responsible for extreme cold snaps.

For decades, countries like Canada prospered under what we called the ‘rules-based international order.’

That order is not coming back, but from the fracture, we can build something better, stronger, and more just.

Bipartisan negotiators released a DHS funding bill that does not significantly reduce ICE and CBP’s funding nor rein in the agencies’ abuses of power.

Make no mistake: Any Democrat who votes for this bill is complicit in Trump’s campaign of terror.
