A lot of Seattle Urbanists will rightfully decry the U.S.'s lack of concern about road safety which annually takes 40K plus lives but then they spend a bunch of time complaining about a thing that has an injury rate of 0.7 people per year as if they're equally important.

Wow the bike lane on Airport Way is completely obstructed with zero signage indicating so anywhere. I got kettled in and had to walk against traffic for a ways to get around. @seattledot.bsky.social is definitely negligent here if someone gets hurt.

I would honestly love for @spottnik.bsky.social to come back and lead SDOT, but with a mayor like @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social who would, I believe, support transformational work instead of allowing this to happen.

Another issue with the 12th and Union bus lane removal: People will absolutely turn right to 12th (more) with this change. Now it is very clear - No Turning, but with the turn onto union the traffic flow will be even MORE confusing for the people who couldn't figure out the current configuration. ☠️

I was just as shocked with the news about the route 2 bus only lane as you. We are working on it. We need to prioritize pedestrian safety and not go backwards on our transit investments.

Seattle needs a streetcar, splitting off from the existing Broadway streetcar, which goes northeast on Madison, turning north on 15th and finally looping back around to the broadway streetcar via John.

The most critical thing I can point out is this: malicious compliance!
If a system or process is fundamentally broken, NIMBYs engage with it through a form of malicious compliance. Do-gooder YIMBYs engage with it earnestly & in good faith

The SeaTac transportation game is terrible. Everyone waiting on a ride "share" should be getting in trains. There's like two light rail cars of people waiting there at any given time during busy periods. What a wasted opportunity.

The Netherlands boasts over 35,000 km of separated cycle paths, half of which have been built since 1996.
