“[Fans are] smart, and the worst thing we could do would be to be unclear with them about what we’re trying to do, trying to deceive people. That’s not going to help.”

Chaim Bloom has the winds of change at his back with one chance to validate public trust:

Couldn’t see the fireworks over Spaceship Earth last night amidst the monsoon conditions, but you could hear them. The Cardinals could light this week up with their own burst of activity, or the week could fizzle. Hello from Orlando:

It's time for us to admit that food trucks are not equipped for events. They work well parked out on the street when people can walk by and order throughout the day, but they are not suited for big crowds. They don't have the capacity. We've been waiting 30 minutes in the cold for fries

Last winter’s perusal of the free agent pool landed me on three names that stuck out as Cardinals targets, and they eventually acquired two of them. Let’s see if I can repeat:

Three free agents who fit the Cardinals’ roster rebuild plans
Expect most of this winter’s roster overhaul to occur via the trade market, but the Cardinals will also dip a toe into free agency.

👇🏻 That’s the plan, folks. This is what they’re after with these redistricting efforts.
TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

Last week's Sonny Gray trade is a useful example of the sort of pitching prospects the Cardinals will pursue as they rebuild the roster. On the position player side? They could use some dudes who hit homers, because they do not have many in house:

How will the Cardinals address the power outage in their roster rebuild?
Willson Contreras led the team with 20 home runs last season, with Iván Herrera (19) and Alec Burleson (18) close behind.
