OpenAI says they aren't liable for the suicide of a user their chat bot urged to kill himself because suicide is a violation of the TOS
Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

A periodic reminder to reconsider your use of Meta's products (Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, Instagram...) and to encourage others to do the same.
Having abandoned my FB because it’s now a platform that can be used to incite homophobia I find this man’s double-speak extremely offensive & dangerous. The post leaves out some critical features that will increase hate crimes of violence.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

I'm happy with this result 😊

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

I am starting to see the “sharing gork screenshots is bad” takes emerge and I’m just gonna say it is good to show with real examples just how easily these LLMs can be manipulated and if you think ChatGPT is somehow different in that regard I have a bridge to sell you

Men nej!

Chockad. Förvirrad.

I will add the following: our students lack the research skills required to audit an LLM essay for errors. They don’t arrive on campus with these skills; we teach it to them over four long years. So throwing freshmen in the deep end and saying “swim your way to a shore of rectitude” is folly.
