I post about maps, GIS, and environmental chemistry, and now there’s also a lot of energy and Portland posts, some microblogging. Coauthor on a paper on bird population modeling. Reviews everywhere: "She's too direct."
Portland, OR
I called Eve downstairs to show her to my parents when they were visiting. Immediately she was annoyed, lied on her side facing away from me, keeping an eye on them, while she moved her like a cobra that also banged itself on the carpet. She let me pet her, but no purrs.

Swishing the tail. Letting you know they hear you and are annoyed!

A grocery store I went to in Boulder was shot up. My friends’ high school was shot up. Too many guns, to many conspiracy theorists. Also you pretty much have to drive everywhere there, everything was in some sort of strip mall. Just an exhausting state to live in.

Yeah, and also all the awful people DT pardoned, and the fact that he doesn’t even recall the pardons.

My mom has the same accent as Carmela and even had some outfits that were similar to hers back then. Back in the 80s, my dad had jeweler clients, so my mom also used to wear some over-the-top jewelry like Carm did.
The cars they all drove are also such a perfect fit for that time and place.

Honestly, that line about Biden falling asleep at the beach.. that sounds nice. I wish that for myself in old age, if I make it.

Yeah, I remember reading this in an NYTimes article during this first term in a similar article that was about the mystery of what his weight actually was. That and why he prefers fast food because the person who prepped it doesn't know it's going to him and it's less likely to be poisoned.

Thanks for retweeting this right at the part of my life when I am feeling stuck in both my career and personal life!

Whenever they are driving to Satin Dolls and a bunch of stores on Route 17 and the Garden State Mall show up in the background I'm always kind of like "Ugh, my school bus route to high school! No thank you, I'm distraught right now."

Yeah, she's an Asian-American woman who went to Harvard. He'd think she's a smart nerd and hate her for that.

There so many places and stories in history that would make wonderful movies and TV shows, and instead we keep getting new Batmans and Spidermans.

This BBC article is polite. Joseph Loane of Baltimore in the 1850s had three wives, the 2nd and 3rd were sisters, and 13 kids and they had a lot of conflicts after he died and into the 1860s, including his youngest son switching sides after getting injured at Gettysburg.

A year ago I was at the Museum of the City of New York and in the bio on John Jacob Astor it said he planned that city to be like an NYC of the west coast. 200 years later only 10,000 people, ah big fail on that one.

His political enemy was the teacher's union, and he got a lot support for that!

Laura Linney or the actress who played Jan from The Office would nail Bridget Anne Kelly.

Still, to this day, I call my mortal enemies "the children of Buono voters."

It's "Paddle faster - I hear banjos!" but instead of banjos, it's Nazi militias.

And it's crazy that they align that behind a guy who is the epitome of corrupt 1980s NYC.

The dye in the process the FSA or FIA would run would turn the sample line magenta if they were high in nitrates like these samples would, so much so I could see it, not the instrument getting a hit.
