I post about maps, GIS, and environmental chemistry, and now there’s also a lot of energy and Portland posts, some microblogging. Coauthor on a paper on bird population modeling. Reviews everywhere: "She's too direct."

Hello new followers!
I think I've been added to a chemistry-related starter pack? Thanks for following, I will likely post mostly about Portland stuff, maps, GIS, ecology, and some environmental chemistry.
Letting you know, incase that's not what you want to see!
I was just saying the other day, to live in Colorado is to have been to a lot of places that were shot up.
I went to the CS Planned Parenthood back when it was at its way less secure location on the way to Old Colorado City.

I mean, I don't Michelle Wu has the same pathway as Mamdani. He's a handsome cool guy from NYC. She'd have to deal with DT's sexism and racism. She'd have a completely different ballgame to play with Trump.

Knives out with Muppets
A movie or TV show that takes place in Baltimore during the Civil War (the Loanes in my family tree would be excellent, so much drama among them)
A movie or TV about Jersey City in the Gilded Age or the Frank Hague era
More Westerns!
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Hey, remember in 2016 there were a lot of articles written about how they weren't sure if Trump would ever win Utah because everything about him is so deeply in conflict with Mormon values and their lifestyle?

LMAO. Look how that played out.

My only bone to pick with this idea is the "it's cheaper than beer" part.

No, it's not. I make lasagna from scratch and it's like $25-30 per pyrex dish. That's not cheaper than beer.
tfw you’re fucking the lasagna man for lasagna

If anyone in SE Portland got a package for me from @stlartsupply.bsky.social delivered to them, let me know. Alas, it says it was delivered at my door, but I was home all day and it’s not there. #pdx

I remember these. They were good!
Hershey's TasteTations (1996-2001): A line of bite-sized hard candies, marking Hershey's first attempt to enter the hard candy market (which they frequently noted in the commercials). Available in flavors such as chocolate, butterscotch, peppermint, caramel, and chocolate-mint

I would try this.
Betty Crocker Black Walnut Cake Mix (1958-circa 1965): A boxed cake mix for black walnut-flavored cakes. Black walnuts, noted for their more intense, bittersweet, earthy flavor, became a popular flavor for cake, ice cream, cookies, and candy during this era

Right now, I could play and probably win the game The Adventures of Willy Beamish. I remember most of the scenes from it. Even though it features a teen, I was probably too young to be playing that game. I still think about that sludge taking over the town.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

I wish there was some super-cool handsome/beautiful celebrity in Portland who could visit the WH and butter Trump up like Mamdani did. That would get him to change his opinion on the city, if only for a little while.
I don't know who that would be, but I wish someone would volunteer as tribute.
Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."
