In our era, community was the buzzword. They never really understood it, but they thought maybe it would make them money. And it did, for some of them. But all that’s over now. Now they want to pave over it all and replace it with slop they control. Their need for humans is over.

B.C. tradition, I think. My hometown of Courtenay does it, too. Toronto very much does not do it. Victoria Day is a whole ’nother story, though.
