Welp guess I'm learning the barycentric coordinate system

More good news
I’ve separated the pathtracer’s code from the graphics pipeline itself

This means that I can more-easilly port the pipeline itself to other platforms, and explore the possibility of open-sourcing it.

I really wanna make this happen; I spent most of 2025 on this, it may help others
Lovely clean output

1 step closer to running outside of Roblox!

Uploaded a video showing an assortment of GLSL shaders I have ported to run in my Luau graphics rendering project

One thing I've learned is that as long as you've expressed curiosity on a subject with plausible reasoning for how it would allow yourself to gain better insight, those with experience who you've asked will be more than happy to share that information with you.

Congrats on the success!

You’ve been a very prominent member in the community for a while and I’m glad that you managed to see yourself to the end of your goal.

I promise we wont be raising the rebirth count any time soon 😭

I have completed Flood Escape 2, in fact, 100%'ed it. After 8 long years of playing the game.

Started back in November 2017 and reaching this crazy milestone in 2025 is an incredible feat that I never thought I had the balls to do, but here we are, it's been done...

M5 chip is literally the fastest CPU based on single-core scores in the world; I really wish the rest of the industry recognises how this is capable, and outside of CPU architecture they should be absolutely providing faster RAM chips to the system.

I threw myself back into my past, just for a little bit.

I dived into my archive of music, many of which I completely forget I made, dating back 5-7 years.

It's sort of harrowing; it's almost like I left a piece of myself behind, and I don't know how to feel about it :(

I fudged up the refraction stuff and am in the process of rebuilding my BSDF, but since then I decided to remove checkerboarding, the tradeoff seems worth it since now I have other optimisations in place

It feels like the logic for the renderer is writing itself at this point; there's enough groundwork for it laid down that more and more is just slotting into place.

Thinking on how to handle intersections when inside an object….

Workspace:Raycast() isn’t really built for this, so it may be that I would need to start doing the groundwork for my own raycasting model…

Not fun, but I was going to need to cross this bridge at some point anyway.
Refraction is starting to work!

So this is working for initial intersections with the medium of an object, but I need to perform the check again when leaving an object.

Heya @crazyblox.bsky.social , I wanted to make this fanart for you as a form of gratitude and how awesome it is to play flood escape/FE2 for many years. I admire all of it and made great memories and friends 💕
I assume you get a lot of mentions so this just a minimal way from reaching out to you.

This doesn't look like it's running in Roblox anymore

A lot has happened in 7 years, yet this person probably has the longest FE2 login streak in the world.

Thanks for supporting the game all this time 🫡
A little late with the post, but 7 years log in now lol
I have no idea how I haven't managed to lose this yet 💀

And a happy late anniversary to Flood Escape 2!
I'm so proud of FE2 with all the growth and updates it continues to get! 😊

Fixed and imported!
Now playing around with different reflectance for each part.
Need to implement refraction!

Woah actually I've made a lot of progress recently, feels great!
Just need to import a new skybox since I redid the texture system...
